Deterministic Entanglement as a Prerequisite for Scalable Quantum Photonic Resource State Generation
QC Design researchers Matteo Santandrea and Raphael Weber co-author a new paper, published in Advanced Quantum Technologies, showing that deterministic entanglement generation is essential for scalable photonic resource state production. Using semiconductor quantum dots, the authors demonstrate that on average only 15 attempts are needed to generate a 4-qubit resource state and 89 for a 6-qubit state, making efficient resource state generation achievable with near-term photonic systems. The collaboration spans QC Design, Ulm University, Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, Technische Universität München, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, and the University of Stuttgart.
